Equipping a Nation's Diplomats for the Global Stage
Share
The Challenge
In today's hyper-connected world, diplomacy is conducted on a global media stage. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs needed to equip its outgoing diplomats with the modern skills to navigate a landscape rife with misinformation and "fake news." They required a partner with deep, real-world international journalism experience to prepare their senior representatives to be effective and resilient communicators for Malaysia.
Our Insight
Effective international media engagement in the 21st century requires a dual skill set. It's not enough for a diplomat to be a good spokesperson; they must also be a savvy defender against disinformation. Our team of seasoned international journalists was uniquely positioned to provide this, understanding exactly how global newsrooms operate and the nature of the narrative threats these diplomats would face.
Our Action
Suluh was engaged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to design and deliver a series of high-level workshops for senior diplomats at the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR). Our custom-built curriculum focused on two core areas: proactive engagement with international media and defensive strategies for identifying and combating fake news, equipping these officials with a practical, modern communications toolkit.
The Impact
Malaysia's diplomatic corps is now better equipped to shape and defend the nation's interests in a complex global media environment. The project solidified Suluh's position as a trusted partner for high-level government training, chosen for our deep expertise in international journalism and modern information warfare. We empowered the nation's representatives to not only tell Malaysia's story effectively, but also to protect it.
